Hey, did you know we, as in Alt World Studios, are weeks away from releasing a new comic book? It is called Mr Button’s One Shot – the story of a vengeful Teddy Bear out to stop the Boogeyman and his Monster under the bed once and for all. As you can tell from the artwork this isn’t your regular Teddy Bear Tale.
The month of October is now known as Inktober, a special event for artists to draw just using ink. The bare bones of this event is you must draw one original ink art piece a day (full marathon), or every other day (if you want to do the half-marathon). Continue reading →
We’ve seen hints, glimpses and leaks, but now the first full trailer for Dredd the Movie is here. While the environment doesn’t have the technolunacy of the world in the 2000AD books, it is a fitting look and melds nicely with the grittiness of what a Judge Dredd movie should be. The Judges look like urban warriors, the city does look dangerous and on the edge. Don’t take me word for it, check out the trailer above, from the looks of it we have what the Judge Dredd movie should be about.
More images have been floating around the internet for the new Judge Dredd movie, we get a better look at the Judges uniform and at Dredd played by Karl Urban; also featured is Judge Anderson played by Olivia Thirlby. While these images don’t show the super-tech Mega-City One I like the gritty rundown civilization on the edge feel this movie is going for. It really does fit the image of Dredd very well. Check out the rest of the images after the jump. Continue reading →
I think I might be the only one who thought the Stallone Judge Dredd movie actually wasn’t that bad, they certainly got the look and scale of Mega City One right, just a shame everything else went to crap. Now we have reboot and the movie just called Dredd and starring Karl Urban as the legendary Judge Dredd. I’ve been looking at the online set pics and other promotional pictures (like the one above), and it looks like they’ve given the movie a noir gritty urban 5 minutes into the future look; which in the case of Judge Dredd I think will work just fine. Remember not all adaptations have to be literal, they just have to capture the tone and feel. Anyhow check out the rest of the Judge Dredd pictures, including first look at the Lawmaster after the jump.
